María Inés Becker
María Inés Becker
Dr. Becker serves as Research Director of Biosonda. She holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Chile. Dr. Becker has extensive experience in immunobiotechnology, focusing on the research and development of diagnostic reagents for human and animal health using polyclonal and murine monoclonal antibodies. In 1992, she co-founded the biotechnology company Biosonda. Dr. Becker's current research focuses on developing new adjuvant immunostimulants for vaccine development, using mollusk hemocyanins as a protein-based model adjuvant. This research is supported by scientific publications and patents. In 2006, with support from Biosonda Company, Dr. Becker established the Science and Technology for Development Foundation (FUCITED; www.fucited.cl). This non-profit organization is dedicated to research, development, conservation, and dissemination in the biological sciences. The foundation also supports the training of pre- and postgraduate students of scientific and biotechnological careers from Chilean universities. Dr. Becker is currently a part-time Associate Professor at the Universidad de Chile.

Pablo De Ioannes
Dr. De Ioannes serves as Scientific Advisor at Biosonda. He holds a Master's in Biochemistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a PhD in Biochemistry from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. His expertise in protein structural characterization has led to significant contributions in elucidating the structure of hemocyanin in C. concholepas. Currently, he is an associate researcher in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, where he investigates how chromatin-binding proteins mediate chromatin compaction and regulate gene silencing.
